Saturday at the Iola Car Show has always been strong, but the continued growth of SUPER SATURDAY in recent years has a lot to do with the support of sponsor.  Iola ’15 marked the first year of the Super Saturday Giveaway.  The inaugural giveaway featured 6 prizes, including gift certificates, neon signs, and was headlined by the first cosponsored vehicle giveaway between the car show and Rawhide Boys Ranch.

Iola ’18 marks the 4th year of the giveaway, and to say things have grown is a bit of an understatement.  Since the first year, the number of prizes, and the caliber of those prizes, has exploded! Last year, more than 70 prizes were given away, including a 1999 Firebird Formula.  This year, things have gotten even better.

Among the new sponsor offerings, attendees at this year’s show will have the change to win auto themed office furniture from Auto Inspirations, dozens of great prizes from Toys for Trucks and their supplier manufacturers, RC vehicles from Traxxas, and much more.  Rawhide continues to outdo themselves with this year’s vehicle.  A beautiful 2006 Dodge Charger with around 80,000 miles will be won at this year’s show!

That’s not all that’s new with this year’s giveaway.  The sheer volume of prizes has caused us to take a look at the registration process.  Filling out registrations cards for hours and dumping them into dozens and dozens of boxes isn’t anyone’s idea of a good time.  In our search for a better solution, we didn’t have to look any further than the local High School DECA class.

We’re thrilled to be involving aspiring young business professionals in this process.  Under the guidance of Ms. Laura Scott, the local DECA class will be operating out of the Southwest corner of the tower and accepting registrations in a streamlined process.  This year, you will only have to register ONCE in order to be eligible to win all of the incredible FREE PRIZES!

Sponsors are like Silver and Gold

Like Silver and Gold, New Sponsors and Old help drive Iola Car Show:

The relatively young sponsorship program at the Iola Car Show has experienced serious growth over the last several years.  2018 will be no exception.

When Larry Fechter joined the team back in 2014, one of his first goals was to establish a sponsorship program.  The big show is a magnet for people and has a lot to offer businesses with the ability to market to them while helping the show.  Fechter made some contacts and started forming partnerships with well-known brands such as Rawhide Boys Ranch, Waupaca Foundry and Vintage Works.  These partnerships have become the foundation of the sponsorship program.

Since that time, the sponsorship program has grown year after year, with nearly all sponsors returning annually.  Iola ’16 & ’17 featured large displays representing new offerings from Chevy and Ford.  Newcomers Jasper Engines, Toys for Trucks and Unique Specialty Auto also attracted great attention with their space on the blacktop.

Still more sponsors help out behind the scenes but providing free or discounted services to the non-profit event.  L&L Propane provides all the propane on the grounds, and Conger Toyotalift provides equipment to assist with setup and teardown.  Security Fence & Supply is integral to the ongoing improvements of the grounds as well.

Iola ‘18’s sponsorship area is bursting at the seams, creating some “good problems” for the show.  Traxxas, SATA-DanAm, Mothers Polishes, and Gateway Classic Mustang are just a few of this year’s additions that will help entertain and impress the crowds.

RMD Garage to appear at Iola ’18

The Iola Car Show is very excited to share that it’s adding to an already stellar lineup this year with the addition of Ralph Holguin, star of the TV Show RMD Garage.

Based out of Long Beach CA, Ralph and his team have an awesome reputation for high end custom builds.  The group from Long Beach, California saw their notoriety supercharged when they became the subject of Velocity Channel’s RMD Garage, whose first season aired in 2017.

With a massive public following, RMD is taking the opportunity to spend some time on the road and interact with their fanbase throughout the country.

“We’re very excited to have the RMD Garage here in Iola,” explains Iola Car Show PR Director Joe Opperman, “They’re a hot national brand who’ve earned popularity with some really exceptional builds.  Our show presents one of the best opportunities to meet and mingle with enthusiasts in the Midwest, and this gives our attendees the chance to see things you just don’t get to see here everyday.  RMD is really keying in on the event to connect with people that watch the show, but they’d otherwise never get to interact with in person.”

Ralph and his display will be located on the lower blacktop in the Show Car area of the show.  Ralph will be on hand for photos, autographs and more throughout the event.
